GDPR & Your Data Rights
Last updated: 15 October 2026
MeetPaw is privacy-by-design. It is a local macOS app with no backend servers, so the developer does not collect, store, or process your personal data. This page explains how that maps onto the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws.
Who is the data controller?
For the data handled inside MeetPaw, you are — it lives on your own Mac. For the meeting and calendar data that MeetPaw reads and writes on your behalf, the controllers are the providers you connect: Google, Zoom, and Microsoft, under their own privacy policies. MeetPaw simply acts on your device as your agent, using the access you grant.
What data is involved, and where it lives
- Account tokens — stored only in your Mac's Keychain.
- App preferences — stored only in local macOS user defaults.
- Meeting & calendar data — held in memory while the app runs and never written to disk by MeetPaw.
None of this is transmitted to the developer or any third party. MeetPaw communicates only with Google, Zoom, and Microsoft, directly from your device.
Legal basis
The processing MeetPaw performs on your device happens on the basis of your consent, given when you sign in and grant permissions to each account. You can withdraw that consent at any time by removing the account or signing out.
International transfers
MeetPaw does not transfer your data anywhere. Any cross-border transfer of your calendar or meeting data is between you and your chosen provider, governed by that provider's terms.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Because MeetPaw stores nothing on a server, you exercise them like this:
- Access & portability — your data lives in your own Google, Zoom, or Microsoft account; export or review it there.
- Rectification — edit a meeting in MeetPaw, or in the provider's own app.
- Erasure — delete a meeting in MeetPaw, and sign out or remove an account to erase its tokens from your Keychain. To erase the underlying calendar data, use the provider.
- Restriction & objection — remove the relevant account, or revoke MeetPaw's access from your provider's security settings (Google, Zoom, Microsoft).
Data retention
Tokens remain in your Keychain until you sign out or remove the account. The developer retains nothing, because nothing ever reaches the developer.
Children
MeetPaw is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children under 16.
Complaints
If you are in the EU/UK, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Since MeetPaw holds no data, such complaints about calendar data are best directed to the relevant provider.
